A nunchaku is a weapon made of two short sticks (traditionally wood) connected by a chain or cord. It is
popularly described as being developed from the rice or grain flail, a peasant's threshing tool. The truth of this
is unknown but what seems certain is that form of nunchaku used in martial arts is designed with the specific purpose
of using it as a weapon.
It is mainly used by Japanese martial arts: some styles of karate include nunchaku training. It also used in some forms of Kali.
Nunchaku were brought to the popular attention in the west mostly due to their use by Bruce Lee in his movie Fists of Fury.
