Muay Thai

Unarmed fighting art originating in Thailand which utilises elbows, knees and follow-through kicks which utilise the whole body.

The original fighting style which developed in the area which is now called Thailand was Mai Si Sok. This evolved into Pahu Yuth which becamme known as Muay Thai after the Siam changed its name to Thailand. The modern rules were added in the 1930s by Ajan Jua Jaksuraksa, including the use of padded gloves and weight divisions.
