KUGB

The Karate Union of Great Britain is a governing body for shotokan karate. It was founded in 1966 with Sensei Kanazawa as Chief instructor. Sensei Enoeda replaced him in 1968 and Sensei has held this top position until his death in 2003. Up to this point the KUGB had been affiliated with the JKA. For various reasons a rift occured between the JKA and the KUGB and the JKA announced that Sensei Ohta would represent them in the UK as head of the newly formed JKA England.
