Asano, Shiro (1939-)

Chairman and Chief Instructor of the Shotokan Karate International (Great Britain) and the Shotokan Karate International Federation.

Sensei Asano was born in Shinjuku Tokyo and studied karate under Sensei Nakayama. Was All Japan Universities Champion in 1957 and 1958 while at Takushoku University (Tokyo). Became a JKA instructor in 1963 and taught in Germany, Liverpool and Nottingham.
